TEPE 2025 - abstract guidelines
The abstract is a short but concise statement that describes a larger original work. The content of the abstract must comply with the following guidelines:
- All abstracts should include a brief introduction on the topic, purpose, and key question for further discussion.
-
-
Abstracts that aim to present academic research include methods used, main findings, main implications and conclusions. Also, the abstract should cover research limitations, the main recommendations and practical implications.
-
Abstracts that focus on dilemmas or issues in teacher education practice, research or policy should include the background, e.g. policy context, and clearly describe the underlying dilemma and underlying values, preferably in an open and neutral way.
-
Abstracts that aim to present approaches and experiences in teacher education practice should describe the context, the practical approach and experiences in a critical way.
-
-
- The abstract should not exceed 500 words and must be based on original work.
- Three or four keywords related to the topic should be provided along with an abstract.
- An indicator of the subtheme that fits best with your proposal.
- Name and institution of the authors and a corresponding email address.
- Deadline for submitting abstracts has passed.
The abstracts will be subject to a double-blind peer review. Accepted abstracts will be published in electronic format on the conference website TEPE 2025 once registration of at least one presenting author is complete. If your abstract is accepted for presentation at the conference, a notification email will be sent to your registered email address (see time schedule above). If you do not receive this e-mail (please check your spamfolder), please contact us at: onderzoek@viaa.nl.
Review process and notification of review results
- Authors will receive confirmation that the abstract is received and included for the review process.
- The authors will be informed of acceptance or rejection on 14 February 2025 at the latest.
- Accepted authors will receive an e-mail inviting them to register for the conference.
- After the Conference, the Organizing Committee will invite authors to provide a full manuscript for a book publication in the TEPE Book Series with Brill. Publication will be based on an open double blind review process.
Evaluation Criteria
The following criteria will be applied by two independent reviewers in the review of submissions:
- Originality: Is the proposal original in nature? How does it contribute to the existing knowledge base on teacher education and teacher education policy?
- Impact: Does the abstract address an important question about teacher education policy and the main TEPE 2025 conference theme? How does the study promote connection and collaboration in the field of teacher education and teacher education policy?
- Research proposals: Quality of research design and data analysis: Is the study design clearly described, including research approach, sample, context and analysis? If the abstract contains an overview of previous research, are the review criteria and the method of analysis clearly described?
- Conclusions: Are the conclusions clear and realistic? Are the conclusions supported by the data? Are the conclusions relevant for teacher education and teacher education policy?
- Interactivity: Is there a clear question that invites a wider discussion?
- Quality of the presentation: Is the abstract clearly written? Is the focus, objective and the structure of the conference contribution easy to understand?
We look forward receiving your research proposals and to welcome you to the TEPE-conference of 2025 in Zwolle, the Netherlands!
